Gidno NGO has been helping a secret technology unit for several years. Until recently, the unit was smaller, and anonymous donors from Ukraine and abroad were enough to cover requests. However, scaling up the work also requires increasing resources to support it and promptly meet the needs of the fighters. That’s why we took a risk. And announced ourselves publicly.
So 2025 became a turning point for Gidno NGO. Processes that previously existed only internally came to the fore. We learned to speak openly, but cautiously. To balance what can be said about the unit’s work and what should not. To talk about what is critically important, but without specific cases and names. And most importantly, to enlist your support. The social media agency “Mythology” helped us go “public.” Together with them, we began to build communication – calm, frank, careful.
We divided into two directions that deal with different but interconnected things. Gidno Defence works with the needs of the technological unit and tries to close them as quickly as possible. Gidno Family focuses on people – military personnel and their families. It is about treatment, support during pregnancy and childbirth, help for children, psychological and legal issues.
We launched two websites – for Gidno Defence and Gidno Family, created pages on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. We began to write analytical texts – about intelligence and cybersecurity. And in the future, we plan to talk more about AI in war.
As for the substantive work, the NGO transferred equipment to units across the country – 460 laptops, 123 units of network support, 356 monitors, and 59 servers. Such figures became possible thanks to the development of the partner network. So, together with the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, we donated 310 prepared laptops and a server that trains artificial intelligence to protect the sky for the needs of the military. Some partners and donors remain non-public — and that’s normal.
In the fall, we launched the first major fundraising project for the unit. After another attack on the energy sector, the work of the soldiers, an important component of which is continuity, was under threat. In order for technological processes not to pause, the military needed at least eight powerful charging stations worth about UAH 1.5 million.
Bihus.Info was the first to support the collection. Then, caring people joined in with auxiliary banks and reposts. This way, we collected UAH 200,000 and drew attention to the unit’s problem from other anonymous benefactors. As a result, the unit received 8 EcoFlow Delta Pro Max charging stations, 6 hybrid inverters, 26 batteries for them, and a 120 kW generator. This ensured the unit’s energy independence.
The Gidno Family direction worked in parallel. In 2025, the total amount of assistance to military personnel and their families amounted to UAH 666,784. For example, the Podorozhnyk pharmacy chain donated medicines worth over UAH 67,000. In total, UAH 133,919 was allocated for treatment, and almost UAH 88,000 was saved thanks to discounts.
We also provided access to psychological and legal assistance. Military personnel can now anonymously seek help and receive it promptly and free of charge.
In 2025, with the support of the organization, two children were born in the families of the military unit. The total amount of this support amounted to UAH 140,000. More than 250 children of military personnel received gifts for St. Nicholas Day and Christmas thanks to international partners, in particular, the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine, Mighty Convoy, and private donors from the United Kingdom.
Total income amounted to 5,874,131 UAH, expenses – 5,771,800 UAH. The largest share of expenses is servers, access, and equipment. In 2026, we continue and scale the work. If you would like to contribute with any support, write to us at donate@gidno.org
